Our vineyards are spread across different locations in Ponikve, some situated on stone terraces and some in lower positions. Each position gives the grapes a special character, and the different micro-localities result in wines with a unique expression and varietal personality.

 

Today, we, the brothers Dubravko and Đani Vukas, are running the business – the third generation of winemakers, continuing the path started by our grandfathers and parents with the same passion. The entire family is involved in the business, from the vineyard to the cellar.

 

The largest part of our vineyards is made up of Plavac Mali, the foundation of our red wines. In addition to it, we also cultivate white varieties: Rukatac, Pošip, Malvasia Dubrovnika, and recently Grk, the original Korčula variety. Our white wines undergo a short maceration and retain their freshness and pronounced varietal character, while Pošip is the only white wine that is aged. We produce sparkling wines using the classic method, with a shorter aging on the yeasts, approximately a year.

 

Our approach to red wines is based on small yields, late harvest and respect for nature. We age our wines in wooden barrels, creating authentic wines with a strong character, always faithfully connected to our climate.

 

For us, wine is much more than a job – it is our daily life, story and heritage. Each harvest brings a new challenge, but also a new opportunity to share what we live every day through wine.
